Thanksgiving Day Luncheon

On Thursday, November 19th from 11:30—12:30 NCCCC will be hosting our Annual Thanksgiving Day Luncheon. The NCCCC staff do all the cooking so all you have to do is show up. Please RSVP with the number of family members attending on the sign up sheet on the hallway bulletin board Grandparents are welcome! All we ask is that you bring in a canned good for every family member attending to donate to the Shoreline Food Pantry. We hope to see you there!

Lyman Orchard Pie Pick Up

We are expecting delivery of the Lyman Orchard Pie and Cookie Dough Fundraiser on November 10th. Pies must be picked up that day as they are frozen and the Center does not have freezer space to accommodate that many pies.

We raised $ on the Midland Fundraiser and another $ on the Lyman Pies. These funds go into our fundraiser account and are earmarked for Phase II, the replacement of the outside fence. Thank you everyone for your support!

Inclement weather

To insure the safety of parents, children and staff in hazardous driving conditions, the Center may delay opening, close early or remain closed all day. A decision to delay opening will be made and broadcast by 6:00 A.M. If it is necessary to remain closed all day, the decision will be made and broadcast by 7:00 A.M. In the event the center must close early, a decision will be made and broadcast by 12:00 noon, and all parents will be contacted by phone. Announcements will also be broadcast on the following television stations:

  • WFSB/CBS-3
  • WVIT/NBC-30

Center wide emails may be distributed to parents who have provided an email address.

Please remember to give documentation of your child’s flu vaccine to our nurse. Thank you!

Extra Clothes

Just a gentle reminder, please send your child to childcare with weather appropriate play clothes and shoes. We do a lot of painting and playing in the sand box and we don’t want your child to worry about getting dirty or ruining their clothes while they are learning through play. It also works much better if the children wear sneakers or shoes that they can run and jump in without them coming off while playing or injuring their feet. Also, please check your child’s extra clothing bin to make sure their clothes are weather appropriate. It will start to get cool again soon and they may need a light jacket or sweater in the morning in order to feel comfortable outside.

Assessments and Parent Teacher Conferences

During the month of November the teachers will be doing the Bi-annual Assessments of the children and then conducting Parent/Teacher Conferences sometime in November or December. They individually assess each child through observations and testing to see where they are developmentally and better help each child attain their next developmental goal. Teachers will post signup sheets in each classroom so you can pick a time for your Parent/Teacher Conference.

Nov-2015-newsletter-fencePhase I of the fence replacement is complete!!! We have removed and replaced the interior fence on the playground. It is a beautiful composite fence that meets state regulations, will not rot, need painting or cause splinters.

The Men’s Group from the church both removed and installed the new one. A HUGE Thank you to all the men who helped. It was a long weekend of hard work and is very much appreciated!
