Niantic Community Church Children's Center
Services:
Our Curriculum
We believe that children learn best when they are actively involved in their
own learning. We emphasize learning through enriched play experiences
and social interaction. We value the unique opportunities to nurture each
individuals personality, learning style and cultural identity.
Our classrooms are carefully arranged to provide for a wide range of
opportunities for children to explore, discover and manipulate in the world
around them. A child may choose from center activities such as:
*Art
*Science
*Library
*Sensory Play
*Construction with various materials
*Dramatic Play
*Manipulatives
We strongly believe that fresh air and physical activity are essential to each
child's well being. Our schedule allows for each classroom to have three
outside times per day. The components of our outdoor play include:
*Spacious fenced in area (room to run, roll, skip and jump)
*Sandbox (plenty of room to dig, pour, build and mold)
*Blacktop Area (bikes, chalk, basketball, hopscotch)
*Seasonal Activities (sledding, water play and gardening)

When we can't go out, we are fortunate to have the church's dining hall.
The children love using bikes and playing active games in this room. We
also host family events there a few times each year, which are very well
attended and a great way of getting to know the other families.
